FAQ & BIO.
Q: Hi Jason, can you tell me a little about yourself? What sets you apart?
A: Sure! I've worked in the Film and TV industry for over a decade, and also with companies that want to incorporate storytelling into their brand. Photographers will often claim they're storytellers, but I'm literally in the business of storytelling; my cinematic experience gives me a different toolset and outlook than others.
Q: Why do you enjoy taking photographs?
A: I think there's a real value in authentic photography; I'm always trying to gain insight and find that unique spark I feel is in everyone.
And I love knowing I'm giving something that increases in value over time. A picture you love today is going to be priceless down the road.
Q: I hate having my picture taken.
A: That's not a question, but I hear ya :)
Q: No, I *really* hate being in front of the camera.
A: Most of the clients I work with are a little anxious staring into a lens. But with the right approach we can have a fun time, even for the most camera shy. I'm not going to pose you like an action figure and give abstract directions.
I want my clients to genuinely enjoy their session, and to feel comfortable being themselves; that authenticity, after all, is what I'm celebrating.
During our session, you'll feel like you're with a friend...who just happens to know his way around a camera. Snap, snap.
Q: I'm looking for a different type of photography or a different hourly package than what you've listed.
A: For sure. Just send me an email and we'll chat.
Q: The whole lifestyle approach sounds nice, but I'd also like to have "smile-at-the-camera" shots.
A: While I do focus on candid and spontaneous moments, I absolutely will deliver traditional shots in your gallery.
Q: How many photos will I receive?
A: A pretty generous amount - all edited. For a 45 minute family or couple's portrait session, you can expect at least 50 photos. For a wedding, at least that much per hour.
Q: Anything else I should know?
A: I sometimes have pie for breakfast, and I don't feel bad about it *at all*.
Q: I have a question you didn't answer here.
A: Great! That gives us an opportunity to talk :) My email address is: jasonherda@gmail.com.
